General Practitioners (GPs)

In the Netherlands, the huisarts (GP) is your first point of contact for any non-emergency medical concerns. Whether you're an international student or a graduate staying in the country, registering with a local GP is essential for accessing healthcare. They handle general medical issues, prescribe medications, and refer you to specialists if needed. Most Dutch health insurance plans cover GP visits, but if you don’t have insurance yet, costs can vary. It’s best to register with a GP in your area as soon as possible, since many practices have limited availability.

Expat Health Clinic

Expat Health Clinic is a medical center focused on providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to internationals living in the Netherlands. Unlike traditional Dutch GP practices that may have long wait times or limited availability, EHC offers timely appointments and extended consultations tailored to the needs of expats—including students.

You can book an offline consultation “General Health consultation” in the clinic in Rotterdam or book an online consultation “teleconsultation” that will take place via Google Meet.

Their services combine modern technology with personalized care, ensuring that international students and expats receive the medical attention they need without unnecessary delays.

1. Easier Access to Healthcare

Finding a GP with open spots can be difficult in Dutch cities, and wait times for an appointment can be long. EHC helps bridge this gap by providing timely and comprehensive care without the hassle of waiting weeks to see a doctor.

2. English-Speaking Doctors

Dutch healthcare providers often speak English, but at EHC, all consultations are conducted in English, ensuring that students fully understand their diagnoses, treatment plans, and medical options.

How to Access Healthcare at EHC?

1. Booking an Appointment

Students can schedule appointments online via EHC’s website. This makes it easy to get a consultation without having to visit multiple clinics or struggle with Dutch-language booking systems.

2. Location & Contact Details
